Sidekick Notes — Scribing as You Browse ("Sidekick Notes", "the Extension", "we", "our", or "us") helps users clip highlights, pin floating notes to tabs, capture screenshots, and organize research into collections inside the browser.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension handles, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect or Store

The Extension stores information that you intentionally create or save while using its features, including:

• Notes, note titles, note body text, and note metadata.
• Collections and organizational information.
• Highlights, clipped content, and selected webpage text saved by you.
• Screenshots captured by you through the Extension.
• Webpage URLs and page titles for page-specific notes.
• Extension settings and display preferences.

How We Use Information

Information is used only to provide the core functionality of Sidekick Notes, including:

• Saving and displaying your notes.
• Associating notes, highlights, and floating notes with webpages.
• Organizing notes into collections.
• Capturing screenshots when requested by you.
• Remembering your Extension preferences.

Website Access

Sidekick Notes may access webpages you visit only when necessary for features such as floating notes, page-specific notes, highlights, clipping selected content, and user-requested screenshots.

The Extension does not use webpage access for advertising, behavioral profiling, or selling browsing activity.

Screenshots

Screenshots are captured only when you explicitly use the screenshot feature. Captured screenshots are stored as part of your notes and are used only to provide the screenshot and note-taking functionality.

Information We Do Not Collect

Sidekick Notes does not intentionally collect:

• Passwords or authentication credentials.
• Payment card details or financial information.
• Personal information for advertising purposes.
• Browsing history for profiling or advertising.
• Health, biometric, or sensitive personal information unless you voluntarily type such information into your own notes.

Data Sharing and Selling

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your notes, highlights, screenshots, or saved webpage references with advertisers or data brokers.

Information may be disclosed only if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or security.

Data Storage

Sidekick Notes stores user-created content and preferences using browser-provided storage mechanisms. Depending on your browser settings, some data may be stored locally on your device and may also be synced by the browser if browser sync is enabled.

Browser sync services are controlled by your browser provider and are subject to that provider's own privacy practices.

Third-Party Services

The current version of Sidekick Notes does not intentionally send user-created notes, highlights, screenshots, or saved page data to third-party analytics, advertising, or AI services.

If future versions add optional third-party integrations, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

User Control and Deletion

You control the content you create in Sidekick Notes. You may delete notes, highlights, screenshots, collections, and Extension data through the Extension interface or by clearing Extension storage in your browser.

You may also uninstall the Extension at any time to stop further Extension activity.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the Extension. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Sidekick Notes is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
